CARE AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A ROUTINE FOR NEW MOTHER'S

Planning a daily routine:
I believe in the first few weeks of his life the baby does little more than feeding and sleeping, his presence in the house is going to make a great change and extra work to the mother, and for this reason it is necessary to have some working rostal or timetable as a routine or a guideline tou your daily activities. This doesn't mean your whole day is going to be engaged with activities of different types, you're going to have a certain clarity in your mind as to how many hours you're going to have to spend on the baby and the hours on your domestic works and rest.
 -----Planning the duty rostal----
A new baby is the most dependent member of the family,it is necessary to have a daily plan of the feeding times, bathing etc,. Then you can fix other domestic works on your daily plan also.
-----Feeding Time-----
The doctor (nurse) or midwife starts the child either on 3hourly or 4hourly according to the need of the child. Some babies are started from the beginning on 4hourly feeds and thrive on it, while others need a smaller spacing between their feeding times. Below is the most usual times for feeds: 3hourly: 6a.m.,9a.m.,12a.m.,3p.m,6p.m., skip to 10p.m. 4hourly: 6a.m.,10a.m.,2p.m.,6p.m.,10p.m. These are the most usual hours,if for any reason they don't fit the requirements of other members of the household, there is no reason at all why they shouldn't be pushed back or forward, providing there are more or less regular intervals between feeds. Feeding takes approximately 20minutes, but is more safer to allow each feeding for half an hour to cover changing of napkins, 'potting',a little cuddle time etc. However, you do not want to be too domestic about the feeding rostal(time-table). If if the child wakes up 30minutes before feed time and starts crying with hunger, by all means feed him . Maybe he didn't get enough at his last feed to satisfy him.
 -----Night Feeding-----
The young child cannot manage without a night feed. If during his first weeks he wakes up about 2 or 3a.m and is obviously hungry, feed him small he will drop this off his own accord as he gets a little older, particularly if you note that the 6p.m. and 10p.m. feeds are really satisfactory one's. If a child is feed regular in this way,at the same time each day,his digestion and the whole body settles into a steady rhythm. After a satisfying meal he us ready to fall asleep any moment and let his body do the work of digestion. As thi is accomplished he continues to sleep until hunger wakes him up and the whole process starts again. If, therefore, you work towards establishing a regular routine from the beginning, you will find out baby sleeps from feed to feed. This is good for him,for sleep is as needed as food to him, and good for you as it will allow your time and leisure for other activities.
